From Havre-Saint-Pierre, Sheldrake is the westernmost town in the Minganie region. Be sure to stop over and discover the unique charm of this magnificent small municipality. The waves breaking against the superb granite coastline provide a fascinating spectacle that will definitely impress you.

Take the hiking trail or bike path linking Sheldrake to Rivière-au-Tonnerre. The serene and beautiful surroundings will have a positively calming effect on you.

Sheldrake has been annexed to Rivière-au-Tonnerre as a result of the Québec municipality merger process. It was originally founded in 1851, when Philippe-Gédéon Touzel, a merchant with the Robins company, first established it as a seasonal docking zone for cod fishermen and ultimately as an area where people could settle permanently.
